    • For additional information on the new features, please see the Subaru DIT V4.0 CCF (Gen2) Additions
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: New Speed Density (SD) Feature
    • Calculate airflow/load from manifold pressure, manifold temp and other inputs instead of MAF sensor.
    • Uses the ideal gas law with true volumetric efficiency (VE) tuning.
    • Run full SD or dynamically switch between MAF and SD with the Hybrid feature.
    • Supports up to 100 psi manifold absolute pressure (with appropriate aftermarket MAP sensor and calibration).
    • Set up tunes faster with real-time tuning of VE and select other SD tables.
    • Uses unique tune-able manifold pressure smoothing for SD.
    • TGV closed and open VE tables help to better account for VE changes due to AVCS table switching.
    • Special post-start VE tables help to better account for VE changes due to inactive AVCS for a period after start.
    • VE adder allows for VE compensation in stratified fuel mode.
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: New Load Extend Feature
    • Raises calculated load hard-coded factory limit from 3.3 g/rev to 10.2 g/rev on 36 key tables.
    • The new load limit should facilitate engines making ~1000 ft lbs of torque or less without requiring any skewing of load.
    • Tables with load extend will show the load axis as "Calculated Load Extended".
    • For your convenience, all the load extend tables are duplicated in the "Cobb Custom Features" --> "Load Extend Tables" group.
    • Introduces new "Calculated Load Extended" monitor.
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: New Boost Extend Feature
    • Raises boost target, boost limit, and boost monitoring hard-coded factory limits from 24 psi (relative at sea level) to about 87 psi (relative at sea level).
    • Also raises the manifold pressure and boost targets limits by the same amount on 20 key tables and boost error to a -50 psi to 50 psi range on an additional 5 tables.
    • Tables with boost extend will add "Extended" to the end of the axis unit name (ex. "Boost Targets Extended"). For your convenience, all the boost extend tables are duplicated in the "Cobb Custom Features" --> "Boost Extend Tables" group.
    • This feature requires an aftermarket manifold pressure sensor with the appropriate range and map calibration in order to take advantage of the higher limits.
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: Raises factory hard-coded injector pulsewidth (IPW) limit
    • Increases the pre-fuel pressure compensation IPW limit to more than 10 times the old factory hard-coded limit, making it unlikely to ever be exceeded.
    • Old factory limit could be hit at higher loads, causing a lean condition where IPW goes static at about 7.x ms at WOT (post-fuel pressure compensation).
    • This feature is completely transparent - no tuning changes required to make use of the new higher limit.
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: New MAF Simple Feature
    • The MAF Simple feature allows you to transition from the highly complex factory airflow model to a simple MAF calibration based airflow calculation at higher load/boost.
    • This facilitates a more accurate airflow calculation for cars that exceed or are close to exceeding the old load and boost limits.
    • Tuneable load and ramping thresholds allow the system to be customized as needed.
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: New Boost Gauge Wrap Feature
    • Allows for monitoring boost past the OEM limit of 24 psi on Subaru's factory boost gauge screen.
    • Gauge will wrap-around when 24 psi is exceeded, allowing you to effectively read up to 44 psi of boost (with default set-up - potentially higher with additional tuning changes).
    • Default set-up uses a 20 psi base in Wrap mode making it easy to calculate the new boost level in your head - 10 psi on gauge when wrapped is 30 psi actual (20 + 10 = 30).
    • Can be customized with a different wrap threshold and/or different base offset. Or can be disabled if not desired (feature is enabled by default).
    • NOTE: The boost wrap feature cannot represent boost higher than the MAP sensor installed to the car is capable of reading. A correct barometric pressure reading is also required for the feature to work properly.
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: New Boost Smoothing Feature
    • Manifold pressure can be smoothed by separate factors for boost control and for the COBB SD airflow calculation.
    • This allows for custom changes to separately filter out "noise" in the pressure reading used in boost control and SD without impacting other ECU functions that use manifold pressure.
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: New Custom Knock Sum Monitor
    • A new custom knock sum monitor has been added that increments when the factory knock signal perceives a knock event.
    • This knock signal is the same signal used for all knock responses by the ECU (feedback knock correction, fine knock learning, and the DAM).
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX 6MT/CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: Adds Fuel Economy Gauge Correction
    • Fuel economy gauge correction feature allows correction factors to be tuned to improve accuracy of factory mpg gauge.
    • Also included in the Flex Fuel feature, allowing for separate tuning and blending of gauge correction across low to high ethanol contents.
  • 2015-2017 USDM WRX v4.0 Gen2 CCF: Adds Intake Temp. Override Feature to Older Model Year DIT WRX Vehicles
    • Intake temp override feature (when enabled) allows using manifold temp in place of pre-turbo (MAF) intake temperature for all applicable tables and other functions in the ECU.
    • The actual pre-turbo (MAF) intake temp can still be logged even when the feature is active.
    • This feature was originally introduced only in the 18-19 WRX CCF Gen1 ECU type but is now available for all DIT WRX vehicles in the new CCF Gen2 ECU type.
  • 2015-2019 USDM WRX CVT v4.0 Gen2 CCF: CCF Features Added to the CVT WRX for the First Time

Tuner Update: 1.9.1.0-15776

Date: 2/13/2018

Improvements:

  • "Wastegate Solenoid Frequency" table added to 02-05 WRX.
  • NOTE: When changing the wastegate frequency table from the factory value, boost response may not behave as you might expect. This is due to an electrical system difference on the 02-05 WRX. Please see the following link for more details: Tech Bulletin - Subaru - Wastegate Frequency & Behavior
  • "Speed Limit (Throttle Reduction)..." tables for 2.5L ECUs now shown with throttle reduction percentage axis. This axis is read-only (to prevent causing issues with factory throttle sanity checks - vehicle speed axis is still tuneable).
  • Some minor table name and description updates.

Bug Fixes:

  • When modifying the "Wastegate Solenoid Frequency" table in DIT vehicles, the factory ECU code did not correct the duty cycle for the new frequency, resulting in a higher actual duty cycle than commanded when frequency was increased. A custom solution was implemented to address this on all DIT WRX and FXT vehicles except for the 14-15 FXT (frequency table was removed from these ECUs). This fix requires re-saving any existing DIT maps that have frequency changes and then reflashing (NOT real-time flashing) the map to the car (boost control should then be carefully tested and boost tune modified as needed). DIT maps that do NOT have changes to the wastegate frequency table do NOT require any action.
  • NOTE: When changing the wastegate frequency table from the factory value, boost response may not behave as you might expect even with this new fix. This is due to an electrical system difference on the DIT vehicles. Please see the following link for more details: Tech Bulletin - Subaru - Wastegate Frequency & Behavior
  • Removed duplicate table listings for the "A/F Learning" and/or "Fine Knock Learning" RAM tables found on some ECUs (these can always be found in the real-time group).
  • Moved LC/FFS tables to the correct "Cobb Custom Features" table group for CCF ECUs with this issue.

Maintenance:

  • Misc. maintenance updates.

Tuner Update: 1.9.1.0-13570

Date: 11/17/2016

New Features:

  • Added COBB Custom Features (CCF) Support
    • 2015 USDM WRX MT CCF (Post-recall 2)
    • 2016 USDM WRX MT CCF
    • 2017 USDM WRX MT CCF
  • Missing DTC Toggle Descriptions Added and Description Naming Revamped (All ECUs)
    • DTC toggle descriptions have been added for all missing descriptions. Existing (and new) descriptions have been revamped for better consistency and clarity, for example:
      • Used more common naming conventions (Intake or Exhaust Cam instead of Cam A or B, Front O2 or Rear O2 instead of b1 s1 or b1 s2, Air Pump instead of Secondary Air Injection, etc)
      • P0244 changed to "Boost Limit Exceeded"
      • P0000 codes changed to "Misfire Related ("PFFFE, "PFFFF")"
      • The two P0000 codes have been combined into a single DTC toggle.
      • "Not Applicable" used for DTCs that have no logic associated with them (primarily found in SUB-001 and some early SUB-002
  • Non-Zero Ethanol Sensor DTC Delay Defaults Added for CCF
    • Applications:
      • 2008-2017 STi CCF
      • 2008-2014 WRX MT CCF
    • The default values for the ethanol high and low DTC delays have been changed from 0 to 30 (the equivalent of about 1 second). This prevents an ethanol sensor DTC (C0BB1 or C0BB2) if the ethanol voltage is out of range for a period of time less than the delay. This avoids setting a DTC and CEL for what may just be brief, intermittent noise. However, the CCF features will still lock Ethanol Final value the instant the out of range voltage is seen so there will be no adverse effects from the intermittent noise.
      • Ethanol Sensor DTC Delay (Low)(C0BB1 DTC)
      • Ethanol Sensor DTC Delay (High)(C0BB2 DTC)
  • Map Compare Feature Updated
    • Added DTC and Toggle comparison support for all models

New Features:

  • (15 WRX 6MT PR2, 15 WRX CVT PR2, 16 WRX 6MT, 16 WRX CVT, 16 FXT ECUs) Added the following new table (in "Fuel Tables" -> "Open Loop (Primary)" group) to allow bypassing an alternate minimum enrichment to primary open loop fueling that could cause richer than expected fuel targets in OL and force open loop fueling at higher load even if the tune dictates closed loop operation (set this table to 65535 to disable this behavior).
  • Primary Open Loop Fueling Min. Enrichment (Pre-Final)(Force OL) Activation Threshold
  • (All DIT WRX ECUs) Added the following new requested torque limit tables (in "Throttle Tables" -> "Requested Torque Limits" group) to allow raising requested torque beyond 350 N-m factory cap.
  • Requested Torque Limit (Max)(Accelerator Position Delta) A
  • Requested Torque Limit (Max)(Accelerator Position Delta) B
  • CCF Tuner Definition Updates:
    • (SUB-003 and SUB-004 CCF ECUs) - "C0BBX" (ex. C0BB1, C0BB2, etc) added to table names for ethanol and fuel pressure sensor voltage/delay threshold tables to make it clearer how these tables are linked to the Cobb custom DTCs.
  • Misc. Tuner Updates
    • (Applicable SUB-003, SUB-004, AU-SUB-004, JP-SUB-005, JP-SUB-006 ECUs) - Inverted displayed values for "Idle Speed Error" x-axis for the following tables (in "Ignition Tables" -> "Compensation" -> "Idle Target" group) to fix issue with live tracing (Note: this will not modify the existing calibration just how these values are displayed).
      • Ignition Timing Compensation (Idle Target)(In Error Range) A
      • Ignition Timing Compensation (Idle Target)(In Error Range) B
      • Ignition Timing Compensation (Idle Target)(Out of Error Range) A
      • Ignition Timing Compensation (Idle Target)(Out of Error Range) B
  • Some misc. table name and help text fixes.
